In 2012, it was purchased by the British company William Hill, although it has kept its trademark and independence in most territories. Review

Sportingbet belongs to Sportingbet Plc. Group. Quoted on the London stock exchange, it is a pretty prestigious company. It was founded in 1997 and today there are over 2,5 million users in more than 200 different countries. They are licensed under the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) and the Kahnawake Gaming Commission. In October 2012, Sportingbet was purchased by British companies William Hill and GVC Holdings, keeping its operational independence worldwide with the exception of Australia and Spain where the brand was absorbed by William Hill.

The gambling experience is very satisfactory given their background in online bookmaking. It features a simple and intuitive interface, really appealing for the less experienced. They also offer a wide variety of betting options including In-Play betting.

They have their own team of traders in charge of setting the odds for all games and matches. This does not mean their odds are better than average though. It also includes a fine fidelity bonus (The Sportingbet Club) which rewards its users with special bonuses, sports tickets or prizes.

Sportingbet Bonus

Sportingbet is one of the few online bookmakers that stands out for offering rewards and bonuses for both new and existing clients. To get yourself an idea, their current offer is a £50 free bonus, although there are some special T&Cs for it, so don’t forget to check them out before proceeding. You can also get some additional advantages like special prizes and bonuses thanks to their fidelity bonus program “SportingBet Club”.

Odds

Sportingbet is based in Guernsey Island. They have their own team of traders whose mission consists of setting up the odds for all of the different sports events. However, the aforementioned odds are pretty much average, but the good thing is, the bigger the match, the better the odds.

Interface and experience

Sportingbet’s interface is intuitive and it is well-designed. This works great for new comers, as they will be able to browse through all the different options in the easiest way. Maybe the site doesn’t stand out for its looks, but one thing’s for sure, it works great. If we really have to say anything negative about it, it’s that it might annoy some of the most experienced users, reason being you have to go through many steps before you find what you are looking for.

Sports Catalogue

Sportingbet features a wide selection of sports. They offer classic sports like football, basketball, handball, tennis… but among their selection you can also find smaller sports like Futsal or Water Polo. Nice, huh?

Sporting bet also has a high coverage when it comes to typically British sports like Cricket, Darts, Golf, Horse racing, Greyhounds, Rugby or Snooker.

In-play betting

Sportingbet was once, one of the leaders when it comes to In-Play features but, over the years, they sort of fell behind. Still, they are one of the most valued (and followed) online bookies in the market.

Deposits and Withdrawals

Sportingbet accepts many different payment methods. You can use most credit and debit cards like Visa, Mastercard etc. But, if you don’t like giving away your numbers, you can always use one of the following prepayment methods: Paysafecard, Ukash, Moneybookers, Neteller, click2play, Giroplay...

Normally you don’t get any kind of surcharges. But it might happen sometimes, especially when making small deposits.

Customer Service

Customer service at Sportingbet is excellent. All employees have been trained by the best in the field so they can clear out any doubts you may have.

If you’re still not familiar with the web, you might want to check their FAQs section. There you will find the answer to many different questions. But of course, If you don’t have the time to read all that, you can always contact customer service. There are three ways to do it, by phone, email or live chat. (Oh, and calls are free by the way).

The only downside to it, it’s not 24/7. (But they work many hours).

Other services

At this point, I think we all agree that Sportingbet deserves to be in the bookies Hall of Fame, but there’s even more; apart from sports, you can also find some other gambling services like poker, slots or online casino. If you feel like trying something new, you will be pleased to know there are also special discounts and bonuses for each of these options.

Maximum deposit

Sporting bet has a maximum deposit of £5,000. However, If you are a veteran or a pro and wish to make an even bigger deposit you can always get in touch with their VIP Customer Service to learn about the special conditions for these situations.

Minimum bets are limited to at least £1, and the winning limit is set at a whopping £250,000. Although there are some variations depending on the selected sport or region.
